Indian Summer. New Work. Oil on Wood 48 x 60. New York

Always inspired by culture and fashion, this new work, for a very specific client who is passionate about rich colors and a touch of drama, will be the focal point in her NY Townhouse drawing room.  Rich brocades, Fortuny upholstery, miles of books, Italian Masters, some impressionistic collector's items, and a pair of 18th century Venetian arm chairs and consoles with splendid marble tops.

Whimsical Lighting

I am working on concepts for a Cabaret Lounge and will be using these to add the right gesture of whim within a very chic setting. Padded black suede walls,  tufted leather, stingray tables and dramatic art of times past. Mirrored ceilings and just the right cove lighting.  Black marble mosaic with gold inlay.  For the preferred club member.  Cigar lounge and Moody dining booths.

Metropolitan Moments

A quick in-and-out at the Metropolitan Museum this week was captured through these images. Seasons come, Seasons change, year in and year out, these creations remain un-changed and forever breathtakingly beautiful.  As they have, for centuries...

Manhattan Liberty

I happen to spot these gals making waves in front of Lincoln Center on Thursday. Never a dull moment in Manhattan! And they were most eager to pose for me...

The English Room. Decorative Arts Wing, Metropolitan Museum NY.

Always fresh, always new.  A 'less is more' reality in an non-contemporary setting.  Naturally the room in its original setting in Kirlington Park, Oxfordshire 1784, were filled with equally beautiful floor coverings and furnishings.  If one considers this era to have sported J.S. Bach and Handel, the architecture echos what was characteristic of musical style, shape and form.

My friends, the Thomas Moore Sculptures at Lincoln Center

My personal favorite 'spot' at Lincoln Center.  The magnificent Thomas Moore Sculptures against the backdrop of "The Lincoln", one of NY's finest new restaurants, and the ever present Julliard School.

Venetian Room, Metropolitan Museum NY

When one lives close to a beach you tend to visit rarely.  I live in Manhattan and some time ago made a commitment to myself to visit the Metropolitan Museum regularly.  Sometimes for as short as 10 minutes.  I have a few favorite 'friends' that I visit each time.  The Vermeers, Rembrandts....Motherwell, and in the Decorative Arts wing, I never leave without a few moments in the Venetian Room.  On Thursday I visited again, and this time took a photo that will find its place on my office wall somewhere.  A different era; unique aesthetic.  Yet, timeless and breathtaking...void of garish.
